Tyler Denny Remains European Champion With Technical Decision Win Over Felix Cash
Tyler Denny (19-2-3, 1 KO) held on to his European middleweight title with a technical decision win over Felix Cash (16-1, 10 KOs) on Saturday.
The bout was stopped at 0:35 of round five due to a cut on the right eye of Cash that was caused by an accidental headbutt. Since the cause was an accident, the fight was scored based on the action that had already taken place, including what had transpired so far in round five. Scores were 49-47 (x2) and 49-46 for Denny.
The fight headlined a Matchroom Boxing card at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. Fight fans around the world could catch the action live on DAZN. With the win, Denny successfully defended his title for the first time, having won the belt in November last year against Matteo Signani.

Fight Recap
While the early rounds were messy, plenty of punches were still being thrown by both men. In between shots, both Denny and Cash would resort to holding and clash heads, a portent of things to come. On a couple of occasions, the referee stepped in to issue warnings, but deducted no points. Despite that, both men still let their hands fly at each other, landing hooks to the head and body. A cut became visible on the right eye of Cash early on.
In round five, the cut had worsened (in the eyes of the referee) to the point of stopping the clash. As a result, the contest went to the scorecards, where Denny wound up winning the fight via decision.
