The Mexican fighter needs to use his accuracy and power and work Bam’s body to slow him down. He showed in the Gonzalez trilogy it was a vital weapon, and it seems that this is the most likely weapon in Estrada’s arsenal that could slow Bam down. Pivoting behind his bodywork will be vital for El Gallo, as will the jab to the body.
Peppering off the Back Foot
We see Rodriguez as the aggressor, so El Gallo needs to launch well-timed counters to keep Bam wary and reluctant to throw his own shots. He did this impressively at points against Roman Gonzalez and will need to do this to slow down his younger opponent.

Estrada has to counter well when Rodriguez pressures him, and the Texan fighter will swarm the Mexican to try and unsettle him. When the openings come, El Gallo needs to pepper Bam with accurate shots to have any chance of slowing the ferocious American down.
Experience
As a two-weight world champion, Estrada has fought the best and come out on top in the memorable trilogy against Chocolatito Gonzalez. This experience will be needed to defeat the 24-year-old undefeated Rodriguez. This experience needs to be utilised to take Bam to places he’s never been in a boxing ring.
The legendary Mexican will need to slow Bam down – and this will be done by utilising his power and working the body. He needs to stop Rodriguez from doing what he does and dictating the tempo.
Bam is understandably the favourite for this fight. He has looked near faultless in his career so far – and to cause the upset, El Gallo will need to use his vast ring IQ to cause the upset.
