Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 Undercard Hit by Withdrawal
The undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 has been hit with a withdrawal by one of the fighters.
Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KOs), who was slated to face Serhii Bohachuk (24-2, 23 KOs), has withdrawn from the event following an acute bronchitis diagnosis. The news was made official on X by Turki Alalshikh, a Saudi Arabian minister who has been actively involved in organizing boxing events in the Middle Eastern country.
“It was confirmed by doctors this evening that Israil Madrimov is suffering from acute bronchitis and has to withdraw from the Dec 21 fight with Bohachuk,” Alalshikh wrote. “British fighter Ishmael Davis will replace Madrimov who will now rest and recover for his scheduled fight on Feb 22 fight with Vergil Ortiz.”

Serhii Bohachuk to Now Face Ishmael Davis
It should be noted that in addition to being set to face Bohachuk, Madrimov was also scheduled to take on Vergil Ortiz Jr. (22-0, 21 KOs) on February 22. As a result of the withdrawal, the Uzbek will now only be scheduled to face Ortiz. Despite this, a training camp will not go to waste for Bohachuk. He remains on the card, just against another opponent.

Davis (13-1, 6 KOs) last fought in September this year against Josh Kelly, losing a majority decision. Kelly was initially going to face Liam Smith. However, an injury to Smith led to Davis stepping in at the time. “The Black Panther” is once more a late replacement, this time for a fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the Kingdom Arena against Bohachuk.
Bohachuk-Davis is on the undercard of Usyk vs. Fury 2, which is part of Riyadh Season, a state-funded entertainment and sports festival. The Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority is responsible for its organization.
