The 20-year-old southpaw went undefeated in 2024, winning all four of his fights by TKO. His most recent victory over Demsey McKean highlighted just how dangerous a fighter Itauma truly is.

Itauma has been praised by a plethora of boxing royalty, including Tyson Fury, David Haye and George Groves. The Chatham boxer enjoyed an impressive 2024, showcasing his exceptional hand speed and eye-catching power. His last two triumphs were devastating KO victories against Mariusz Wach and McKean.

The Future

Following Itauma’s win against Wach, his promoter Frank Warren spoke to TalkSPORT about the talented heavyweight’s potential: “He’s got a fabulous jab and that’s what I was really impressed with in his last fight,” said Warren.

The Queensberry founder continued: “You get a lot of guys, especially big punchers, when they’re enthusiastic and young, they throw their shots and sort of fall in and fall on the opponent, rather than get their distance.”

Warren added: “But he works off his jab and he picks his shots really well.”

“And he did that really, really well against a real seasoned tough guy who we expected to get some rounds out of him, he just took him apart.”

Itauma has until May 19 of this year to break Mike Tyson’s record of becoming the youngest world heavyweight champion at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old. Whether he breaks the record, is almost irrelevant because Itauma looks to have every skill needed to become heavyweight champion at some point in his career.
