Unbeaten Junior Welterweight Contender Inks Multi-Year Extension: Top Rank’s Rising Star Targets World Champion Status

Following his impressive KO victory over Carlos Sanchez on March 29Lindolfo Delgado (20-0, 15 KOs)has signed a multi-year contract extension with Top Rank. The unbeaten junior welterweight contender is ready to return this summer as he looks to continue his rise towards facing the division’s elite.

Lindolfo Delgado Inks New Deal

Speaking on the contract extension, Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum was full of praise for the Linares native: “Lindolfo Delgado has the talent and work ethic to become a world champion, and I am pleased that he’s chosen to sign a contract extension with Top Rank.” He continued:  “We have big plans for Lindolfo and look forward to seeing him back in the ring soon.”

Delgado also spoke on the extension: “I’m thrilled to continue working with a tremendous team at Top Rank. They do an amazing job at promoting fighters. I will continue working hard in the gym so that I’m ready for the big fights. I will become a world champion.”

Delgado’s manager Rick Mirigian expressed his gratitude regarding Top Rank’s work with Delgado: “Top Rank made the commitments Delgado needed and wanted.” 

“They have moved him well and see him as a world champion soon, along with plans for him to fight in Mexico. Delgado is ready for Teofimo Lopez and anyone else Top Rank has to offer.”

The Mexican fighter has impressed since his professional debut in 2017 before joining Top Rank in 2021. Delgado returned after almost a two-year layoff to defeat Salvador Briceño by unanimous decision.

He has recorded impressive wins against then-unbeaten knockout artist Omar Aguilar via unanimous decision and an impressive fourth-round KO of Luis Hernandez Ramos on November 4, 2023. The future looks bright for the 2016 Mexican Olympian, and Top Rank seemingly have big plans for the unbeaten contender.
