Kurt Scoby’s NYC Grit Takes Centre Stage in Atlanta – Witness the Showdown on April 19 Live on DAZN

Big-punching super lightweight pugilist Kurt Scoby (13-0, 11 KOs) will be returning to the ring on April 19, for his first fight in 2024 against Dakota Linger (13-6-3, 9 KOs). The fight will be a scheduled 8-round main event bout at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and be televised live on DAZN and promoted by OTX (Overtime Boxing). Co-managers Brandon Stump and Daniel Gonzalez alongside renowned promoter Lou Dibella have spoken about the potential of Kurt Scoby in the 140lbs scene.

Scoby has enjoyed a perfect start to his professional career, with his most recent win coming on August 18, 2023, against Narciso Carmona by sixth-round TKO. 

Scoby expressed his constant need for improvement when he said recently: “I’ll never be satisfied!” He has shown thus far during his career he carries plenty of power in his punches, with his 11 KOs. The fight on DAZN will allow fans across the globe to get a glimpse of the undefeated New York resident.

Scoby is known as a real fighter in the New York boxing scene and is rapidly becoming the next fresh face in NYC. He trains at the infamous Gleason’s Boxing Gym in Brooklyn under the tutelage of trainers Don Saxby and Leon “Cat” Taylor.

Scoby’s co-managers Stump and Gonzalez, alongside the seasoned promoter Lou DiBella, have spoken of their belief in the 28-year-old: “Kurt Scoby has been making a lot of noise training in New York, everyone is talking about him,” stated Scoby’s co-manager Stump, President of CTB Athletics.

“Everyone watching live in Atlanta or on DAZN is going to see his explosiveness. There is no doubt in my mind that Scooby will become the face of boxing in New York City, it’s just a matter of time.”

Gonzalez spoke about the excitement for Scoby in 2024: “Kurt Scoby is a world-class athlete with world-class discipline and world-class talent.” He continued: “2024 is going to be an amazing year for him and for OTX Boxing. There is no doubt in my mind that he will move from being a prospect to being a real contender in the loaded super lightweight division.”

Renowned boxing promoter Lou Dibella was in no doubt of the potential for Scoby to reach the top: “Kurt Scoby is one of the best prospects in boxing right now at 140 pounds.” He continued:  “He’s also an explosive puncher. He had a stellar 2023 and will begin 2024 back on Overtime in a tough contest, on April 19, against an upset-minded Dakota Linger. A win here helps push Scooby further up the world ratings.”
