Hearn’s Vision for Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis: 2025 Dominance at Welterweight

Eddie Hearn Reveals Ambitious Blueprint for ‘Boots’

Ennis has so far brushed aside all comers with consummate ease. He will take on a familiar foe on November 9, having comprehensively beaten Chukhadzhian for the IBF interim welterweight title on January 7, 2023.

Since that win, “Boots” has beaten Roiman Villa and David Avanesyan, leading up to this mandatory defence. Many have speculated what Ennis will do next – and Eddie Hearn has revealed domination in 2025 is on the agenda: “When this mandatory [defence] was called, we had to make a decision,” he told The Stomping Ground. “He said [he wanted to] win the championships at 147, so we stayed here.”

Revealing the plans for the future, Hearn said: “We take care of the mandatory and then we chase down the champions in 2025. [Mario] Barrios, [Eimantas] Stanionis, Brian Norman [Jr.], any of those fights.”

He continued: “If we have to move to [super-welterweight] in the meantime, to have a little monster fight, no problem also. But the priority for him is to pick up the other belts at 147.”

Victory over Chukhadzhian will surely open the door for unification bouts in 2025. Tune in to DAZN this Saturday to watch a rising boxing star aiming to deliver a thrilling hometown show.
