Gilberto Ramirez recent form

Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs) was last seen in action defeating Yuniel Dorticos before undergoing surgery. Before the Dorticos fight, Ramirez defeated Joe Smith Jr, Arsen Goulamirian, and Chris Billam-Smith. His only career defeat came against Dmitry Bivol, and since then, “Zurdo” has looked dominant in every fight. The Mexican is coming into this fight in great form, but Benavidez will bring a new threat.

David Benavidez recent form

Benavidez (31-0, 25 KOs) was last seen in action, dominating Anthony Yarde and stopping the Brit in round seven of their light heavyweight bout in Riyadh. That made it three wins out of three for “The Monster” at light heavyweight. Now the 29-year-old is moving up 25lbs to challenge Ramirez in an intriguing unification showdown.

Gilberto Ramirez vs David Benavidez prediction

Ramirez is adept at controlling the distance in his fights, using his jab to dictate the tempo. The Mexican is a quality counter-puncher, and will need to do this to slow down the normal, relentless-pressure approach from Benavidez.

“The Monster” is an exceptional body puncher, and Ramirez will need to be at his best up close and punch with Benavidez to disrupt his rhythm. Both are difficult to dislodge once they get into their groove. We are backing the impressive engine of Benavidez to get the job done and win a unanimous decision in an ultra-competitive showdown.
