Premier Boxing Champions have officially announced the long-anticipated fight between WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) and Lamont Roach Jr. (25-1-1, 10 KOs). Davis will defend his title, while the WBA super featherweight champion will move up a division to take on the heavy-handed Baltimore native. Along with the announcement of the fight itself, PBC also finally revealed the date and venue for the fight.

Key Details for Davis vs. Roach
Davis-Roach will be the headline event on a Prime Video PPV card on March 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Davis is familiar with the Barclays Center, and the Roach bout will be his fourth fight at the home of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team.

The pick of his wins at this venue was his brilliant KO of Rolando Romero who was unbeaten at the time. His other two victories came against Jose Pedraza for the IBF super featherweight crown and a third-round TKO win against Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar in 2018.
Difficulties
It was originally thought Davis-Roach would occur on December 14 in Houston – but the fight never materialised for undisclosed reasons on that day at the desired venue of the Toyota Center. According to Dan Rafael, Davis had suggested he felt the fight would take place in January – but it will now happen on March 1.

“Tank” will come into this fight in good form after his destructive KO of Frank Martin, with Roach also winning his only fight in 2024, which was an eighth-round TKO win over Feargal McCrory.
