Matchroom Signs Edgar Berlanga- Plans For Canelo Fight?
Today, Matchroom boxing have announced the signing of Unbeaten Super-Middleweight sensation Edgar Berlanga. The Brooklyn star has made a name for himself in the boxing world – with his battles with Steve Rolls and Alexis Angulo attracting the attention of Eddie Hearn and the Matchroom big wigs.

Edgar Berlanga Signs multi-fight deal with Matchroom
Berlanga has made a name for himself, with his lightning speed and concussive power, which led to him amassing an astonishing 16 first-round KOs from his debut in June 2016 to December 2020. The Brooklyn star picked up his first title in October 2021, winning a decision over Marcelo Coceres to pick up the vacant WBO Super-Middleweight belt.

The 25-year-old cemented his reputation with his wins over Rolls and Angulo. He has amassed a loyal following who have seen his rapid rise to number 4 with the WBO and IBF and number 6 with the WBA.
Eddie Hearn Excited by Edgar Berlanga Arrival
When asked about Berlanga, Hearn was full of praise for the new Matchroom arrival: “I am delighted to have won the race for Edgar’s signature.” Hearn continued: “It is no surprise that everyone wanted to snap him up – he has a great fanbase, he is a real character and most importantly, he can do the business in spectacular fashion in the ring.”

Hearn tantalising added: “Edgar wants to be a World champion and the fight he wants is Canelo Alvarez. Berlanga Looks to the Future
