On Saturday, April 20, Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) and Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will clash in an eagerly awaited bout at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, for the WBC world super lightweight title. As we build up to the bout, both fighters have met at the New York launch press conference.

“This is going to be a hell of an event. We’ve seen Ryan quit before and take a knee before. On April 20th it will be no different. DAZN have put the bounty up, and on April 20th I’m capturing the bounty and coming home with the victory.”

Haney hit back when his time came to speak: “We know that Ryan doesn’t want the fight to be here. he’s tricking people. He’s doing all that he can go have it in Las Vegas,” said Haney. “We’ve seen Ryan quit before. On April 20th, it’ll be no different.”

Garcia declared his intent for April 20: “This is a big opportunity for me. I want to go for legacy and belts, Devin is in the way and I’m on my vengeance arc. I’m coming straight for his neck. I promise you that. It’s going to be ugly. You’re going to need a helper.”

He continued: “I love NYC. People think I hate NYC. If it’s NYC, it’s going to be NYC. April 20th, I’m going to destroy you. “I’m going to beat the s*** out of him.”
