Recap of Smith vs. Zepeda
Despite a cagey opening round, which Zepeda won through pressure, Smith began to get a foothold towards the end of round two with a smart combination, but Zepeda seemed untroubled. Round three saw the Brit increase his output as he began to find a regular home for the left-right combination, which saw him start to dictate the tempo. Round five saw the Sheffield fighter land a beautifully timed right hook to the body, sending Zepeda into a crumpled heap on the canvas and unable to beat the count.
Adam Azim
Adam Azim (11-0, 8 KOs) is an exceptional talent, showing an impressive ring IQ despite his inexperience in the professional ranks. He doesn’t rush his work, picks his punches well, and has proven he carries power.

A fight with Smith would be a fascinating contest, with both so good at controlling the distance in their fights. Whoever establishes their jab first will seize control and make it challenging for the other to get back into the bout. Eddie Hearn spoke after the Smith win and sent a message to Azim: “I dare you to fight Dalton Smith.”
Sandor Martin
Sandor Martin (42-3, 15 KOs) has mixed at a high level, defeating Mikey Garcia and narrowly losing by a split decision to Teofimo Lopez. The Spanish fighter also recently inked a multi-fight co-promotional deal with Top Rank.

Martin picks his punches well, as he showed in the Garcia fight, where he landed hooks and straight shots at will. The Spanish fighter is tough to beat once he gets in his groove and puts his combinations together. A fight with Smith would be a chess match, where the Brit would need to use his feet and move well while varying his attacks to upset Martin and ensure he doesn’t get in his rhythm.
Regis Prograis
Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) would be another huge step up for Smith despite the American being outclassed in his last fight against Devin Haney. Could the Brit be getting Prograis at the right time?
“Rougarou” is an accomplished boxer with a fearsome left hook, which has seen him KO many opponents during his career. He also has a strong chin and is thoughtful with every shot he throws, ensuring he doesn’t waste any energy. Smith will need to use his movement and be wary of Prograis’s left hand while letting his combinations go. Does Smith need one or two more fights before he is ready for someone on the level of “Rougarou?”
