Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga: Lou DiBella gives brutal reaction
Anthony Joshua’s next fight has been a topic of conversation since his stoppage win over Jake Paul. He was involved in a devastating car crash in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of his two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. AJ was rescued from the vehicle, injured. Many speculated whether AJ would ever fight again. It has now been confirmed that Joshua will return against the heavy-handed Albanian Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh. Opinions have been split on the quality of the opponent for Anthony Joshua’s (29-4, 26 KOs) comeback fight, and boxing promoter Lou DiBella has spoken to Ariel Helwani, sharing his brutally honest opinion on AJ vs Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs).
Anthony Joshua’s next fight confirmed for July 25
Part of the press release announcing Anthony Joshua’s next fight read:
“His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, today announced Anthony Joshua will make his highly anticipated return to the ring on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia live worldwide on DAZN. The Olympic gold medallist and former two-time unified heavyweight world champion will headline “The Comeback,” as part of the Esports World Cup Festival, facing knockout artist Kristian Prenga in a heavyweight showdown.”
Lou DiBella shares brutal view on Anthony Joshua’s next fight
Speaking to Ariel Helwani about AJ’s next fight, Lou DiBella didn’t hold back:
“[Anthony Joshua] certainly shouldn’t be in the ring with a doorman, and that’s what Kristian Prenga is. I know him very well.
“Does he belong near AJ? He doesn’t belong in the same freaking gym, doesn’t belong in the same state or country, doesn’t belong in a sparring session.
“I’d be surprised if [Prenga] has ever made more than $10,000? And now he’s gonna go to a million bucks and not because he earned it in any way. Look who he lost to, man.”
