Alexis Rocha And Giovani Santillan Meet In All-Californian Clash
Welterweights Alexis Rocha (23-1, 15 KOs) and Giovani Santillan (31-0, 16 KOs) will face each other on October 21 in an all-Californian clash at the Kia Arena in Inglewood, USA. “We [myself and Santillan] both know that with these fights we’re knocking on title contention,” said Rocha at the final press conference. “He’s ready. I’m ready. We’re gonna go bring it…This is a fan friendly fight that can potentially end in a knockout either way.”
“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” said Santillan. “I’ve been working very hard and like I said, I’m very excited for this opportunity and I plan on making the most out of this opportunity that I’m getting. I plan on making a statement, I’ve been working hard and I’m finally getting the chance to show the world.”

Also on the card is an IBF flyweight clash between defending champion Arely Muciño (32-3-2, 11 KOs, 1 NC) and Gabriela Fundora (11-0, 4 KOs, 1 NC). Muciño won the belt last year with a split decision win over Leonela Yudica on the undercard of Joseph Diaz Jr.-William Zepeda. She previously held the title in 2011 and has also had separate WBC and WBO flyweight reigns.
Fundora, sister of super welterweight contender Sebastian Fundora, is challenging for a world for the very first time. She began her career in May 2021 and has had fights in the USA, Panama, and México. This will be her third fight of 2023.
