Adam Azim Next Fight Confirmed for February 1
Azim to Face Former World Champion Lipinets
The 22-year-old has impressed throughout his professional career, which saw him dismantle and stop Ohara Davies in round eight of their clash. Wins over Franck Petitjean and Enock Poulsen have moved the Slough fighter onto a new level, and he appears full of confidence and ready to continue his rapid ascent up the world rankings.
Lipinets holds notable wins over Lamont Peterson and Omar Figueroa Jr. The Kazak-born fighter last fought on May 8, defeating Robbie Davies Jr. Lipinets is coming to win and has experience winning a world title against Akihiro Kondo at the Brooklyn Center in 2017. The win against Davies Jr. shows he maintains plenty of ability.
Reflecting on Ohara Davies Win
Speaking to Sky Sports following his win over Davies, “The Assassin” reflected on his performance and said: You guys have seen a lot of new stuff I did in the fight. Long-range, inside work, mid-range, countering from inside. It was all in the full package.”
He continued: “My tactics were really good the first three rounds, I knew I had the fight after that, but anything can happen in boxing. One punch can change anything, so I had to be really switched on.”
Summarising his impressive performance: “Ohara Davies is a big banger as well, so he can punch. Everything was on track,” said Azim.
He added: “It was a very, very good performance by me. It was a very tough fight as well, so it was not an easy fight.”
Azim is fast becoming a threat to the top fighters in the super lightweight division, and Feb 1 looks set to be another step towards those bigger fights.
