Boxing Schedule: Three Upcoming Memorable Fights in 2024

Boxing Schedule: Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez – June 29

One of the best fights possible in boxing has been made, and it’s one for the purists. Juan Francisco Estrada defends his WBC and Ring Magazine world super-flyweight titles against the undefeated Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez. During a previous Big Fight Weekend podcast, Dan Rafael described the fight as “a real crossroads fight.”

“Bam” was last seen when he brutally stopped Sunny Edwards on December 16, 2023. Estrada was last seen when he edged past Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez at the end of 2022. It promises to be a great fight, with plenty of action. Will June 29 be a passing of the torch?

Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford – August 3

On August 3, at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, we will see Terence Crawford attempt to enhance his legacy as he takes on Israil Madrimov for the WBA super welterweight title and the interim WBO super welterweight strap. It’s the headline fight of a stacked card.

The boxing world will be eager to see “Bud” back in the ring for the first time since the one-sided beatdown Crawford inflicted on Errol Spence Jr. He is taking on Madrimov, who impressed in his stoppage win against Magomed Kurbanov. Crawford’s boxing IQ is exceptional, finding holes in his opponent’s defence with surgical precision, and he will need to be at his best to stifle the intensity and power of the Uzbek fighter.

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury – December 21

On May 18, the boxing world tuned in to watch Oleksandr Usyk defeat Tyson Fury by split decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis

Turki Alalshikh revealed the rematch date via his X account: “The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season…The world will watch another historical fight again…Our commitment to boxing fans continues…We hope you enjoy it…”

The first fight was a classic, and the second one seemingly promises plenty of action, with “The Gypsy King” looking to turn the tables on his all-conquering Ukrainian opponent.
