‘I think he’s walking into a hook’: Carl Froch breaks down Garcia vs Benn

Ahead of this intriguing main event, former multi-time super middleweight champion Carl Froch has broken down the fight, predicting Benn could walk on to a big hook.
Carl Froch breaks down Garcia vs Benn
Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) won the WBC title in his most recent fight, dropping and dominating Mario Barrios. This is undoubtedly the biggest fight of Benn’s (25-1, 14 KOs), with his most recent win being an underwhelming victory over a faded Regis Prograis.
This is a fight with many layers, but speaking via his own Froch on Fighting platform, “The Cobra” revealed his view on how the main event would pan out on September 12:
“I think he’s (Conor Benn) gonna struggle, and I don’t think he can win this fight. I don’t think it goes past five rounds, so I’m giving him a lot of shit there, if I’m honest. I think he’s getting chinned. I think he’s walking into a hook. The only caveat to that is, which Ryan Garcia turns up?
“Ryan Garcia, obviously a powerhouse on the world level. He’s not on the high echelons of the elite level fighters, but he is a top-level world beater. I think the only way Conor Benn might have a chance in this fight, and what they (Team Benn) might be gambling on, is if Ryan Garcia doesn’t turn up. If his mind’s not on it, and he’s not firing on all cylinders, and he puts in a low performance, Conor Benn’s got a chance.”
“At 147, Ryan Garcia’s got fast hands, super sharp; he can punch hard, and he’ll be full of energy. It’s gonna be difficult for Conor Benn to come in at 147. With my understanding of boxing, if Conor Benn can actually hurt Ryan Garcia and put on a performance and get the win, it is an outstanding win, and I’ve got to give him some credit.”
