Boxing has evolved in recent years, as have other contact sports. Boxing has progressed and welcomed social media stars such as Jake Paul. UFC has produced many stars, including Darren Till. Tony Bellew grew up in the sport and went on to become the cruiserweight champion. Darren Till and Tony Bellew were speaking on Fight Your Corner, in partnership with Midnite podcast, when Till declared that Bellew would fight Paul if offered.

Jake Paul enters the boxing world

Jake Paul (12-2, 7 KOs) made his professional boxing debut in 2020, beating Ali Eson Gib. Since then, he has beaten a selection of YouTubers and retired UFC stars. However, in recent years he did beat an ageing Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez. More recently, a brutal KO defeat to Anthony Joshua saw Paul suffer his second career defeat.

His impact outside of the ring has been more telling, signing a plethora of fighters to his burgeoning promotional stable, Most Valuable Promotions.

Paul’s future in fighting is unclear after suffering a double broken jaw against Joshua.

Darren Till claims Bellew would face Paul

Speaking on Fight Your Corner, Till made it clear that Bellew would face Paul:

“Tony [Bellew] must hate [Misfits] and Tony’s a purist of boxing. I’m not a purist of boxing, and I don’t hate it, we’re all still going to watch it.

“If Jake Paul was to come along now and ask Tony to fight, Tony would fight him. Jake Paul started the circus so we’re all laughing and joking, but I’ve always seen the Smiths there; I always see Tony there. So, we’re all there.

“It’s this TikTok generation. They’re all fighters nowadays. They’re all these are the lads that going to be asking our daughters on dates and stuff like that. And it’s pathetic. They’re dancing on TikTok. They’re doing voiceovers with the bird.

“We’re all watching, and it’s the circus so let’s just get used to it because Jake Paul started it, I’m not going to sit here and hate on Jake Paul. The man’s flying around on private jets with different colour Richard Millies for each day. Got to give respect to that as a businessman.”
