Big punching heavyweight issues demand to Tyson Fury
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is a fight that many have wanted for the decade it’s been in the making. Turki Alalshikh has confirmed we can expect to see Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua on a date and at a venue to be confirmed. It feels like we almost have the fight many of us have longed for.
Ahead of this planned mega fight, Joshua will return on July 25 against Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Fury has been rumoured to fight on August 1, and one opponent mentioned is Albanian fighter Nelson Hysa. The heavy-handed Hysa has spoken to talkSPORT, making a promise to his supporters, while issuing a demand to “The Gypsy King.”
What’s next for Tyson Fury?
Fury vs Joshua rumours continue to swirl, with no venue or date confirmation likely until Joshua defeats Kristian Prenga on July 25, and Tyson Fury wins on August 1.
Fury (35-2-1, 24 KOs) posted a video on Instagram recently that showed him back training in Thailand, with the caption: “Let’s go August 1, Dublin, Ireland”.
Fury’s first fight since his second defeat against Oleksandr Usyk was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11, where he recorded a comprehensive unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov, with the scorecards reading: 120-108 on two cards and 119-109 on the third.
Nelson Hysa calls out Tyson Fury
Speaking to talkSPORT, Hysa (24-0, 22 KOs) appeared confident regarding a potential showdown with Fury:
“Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight ever in the UK.”
When asked if he believes he could stop Fury, the heavy-handed Albanian said: “No, I don’t believe. I will do! I promise to my Albanians that I will do you very proud, and to all the people in the world, to all the people who are hearing me now on talkSPORT with you, I say and believe that we will do a very good match. To Tyson, sign the contract.”
