Jaron Ennis delivers pre-fight warning to Xander Zayas

On June 27 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis will headline a Matchroom Boxing card in association with Top Rank for Zayas’ WBO/WBA super welterweight title. The main card will stream live on DAZN PPV. Ahead of this unification showdown, Ennis has spoken to Ariel Helwani, delivering a pre-fight warning to Zayas.

Jaron Ennis vs Xander Zayas set for June 27

Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) has progressed well under the guidance of Top Rank, with Zayas defeating Jorge Garcia Perez to win the WBO super welterweight world title, before winning a split decision against Abass Baraou to add the WBA title.

Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs) will be looking to become a two-weight world champion by defeating Zayas. Ennis became the unified welterweight champion by defeating Eimantas Stanionis to add the WBA strap to his IBF crown. He then moved up to super welterweight and blew away Uisma Lima in a round to capture the interim WBA title.

Ennis delivers pre-fight warning to Zayas

Speaking to Helwani, Boots revealed how confident he’s feeling and warns Zayas he has never faced anyone like him:

“There’s so many fighters that fight like him in this boxing game… I’ve seen him many times. He’s never seen anybody like me. I’m different, and he’s going to see that firsthand.

“I can do everything. I can box. I can bang, pressure fight, switch stances, give you speed, give you power. I can be slick when I want to.

“There are really levels to this game, and I’m going to show him.”
