‘Knocking them down one by one’ — Jaron Ennis sends warning to Xander Zayas
Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis will be promoted by Matchroom in association with Top Rank. The entire card will take place on June 27 at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, live and exclusive on DAZN PPV. Reacting to the confirmation, “Boots” Ennis had a bold warning for Zayas ahead of their unification showdown.
Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis confirmed for June 27
Zayas will defend his WBO and WBA super welterweight titles against Ennis in Brooklyn. Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) unified the titles in January, winning a split decision against Abass Baraou to put himself at the top of the division. He became a world champion, defeating Jorge Garcia Perez to become the WBO champ.
Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs) will aim to become a two-weight world champion by defeating Zayas. The Philadelphia native unified at welterweight, delivering a beatdown of Eimantas Stanionis to add the WBA strap to his IBF crown, before deciding to move up to 154 pounds. In his first fight at super welterweight, he destroyed Uisma Lima inside a round to collect the interim WBA title.

In his reaction to defending his titles against Ennis, Zayas said:
“Long before I became a World champion. I always sought to face the biggest challenges in my division. I have never shied away from a fight and have always been willing to test my skills against anyone.”
“Now, as the unified champion, I am ready to defend my world titles against one of the sport’s biggest names. I have always believed in myself, and on June 27, I will continue to show the world what is possible when you dare to be great,”added Zayas.
In a clear message to Zayas, Ennis said: “Time to step and collect these belts!”

Looking ahead to Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis: “What a fight!” said Ennis’ promoter, Eddie Hearn.
