Adam Olaniyan vs Jan Bezouska

Next up on the Jazza Dickens vs Anthony Cacace undercard was Irish heavyweight amateur sensation Adam Olaniyan (1-0, 1 KO), making his professional debut against Jan Bezouska (2-3, 2 KOs).

Olaniyan started quickly, landing hurtful combinations, and quickly landed a clubbing right hand, knocking down the overmatched Bezouska. He continued to move his feet well, landing another heavy shot, with the referee quickly waving the fight off. Olaniyan will undoubtedly face better opposition, but he got the first-round TKO win on his professional debut.

Ryan Garner vs Cristian Bielma

The next fight was in the super featherweight division, with Ryan Garner (19-0, 10 KOs) facing Cristian Bielma (19-13-2, 7 KOs).

It was a mostly messy opening round, with Garner landing the more telling punches. Despite Bielma having some success in the second round, Garner remained on top, putting his punches together well. “The Piranha” increased the pressure in the third round, landing some heavy shots, leading the referee to wave the fight off. A routine third-round TKO win for Garner.

Jono Carroll vs Colm Murphy

In the first fight on the Jazza Dickens vs Anthony Cacace main card, it was Jono Carroll (26-3-1, 7 KOs) vs the undefeated Colm Murphy (16-1, 6 KOs) for the vacant IBO super featherweight world title.

The opening round was a quiet one, with both looking to find their range. Murphy stayed patient in the second round, but landed more effectively, with Carroll looking to move in the southpaw stance and potshot. Murphy’s confidence began to show in the third, as he began to find his range with more regularity.

Carroll had his best round in the fourth, showing good variation in his punches. Murphy had some joy at the end of the round, but it was definitely a Carroll round. The fifth round was indicative of the fight, as Carroll had success with his movement and potshotting, but Murphy’s lead right hand was the main weapon in that round. As the rounds progressed, Murphy began to land with more regularity.

Carroll enjoyed good success in rounds seven and eight, but Posh Boy did make Carroll miss during both rounds. As the fight reached the later rounds, Carroll’s timing began to shine through. His variation and experience became key factors while Murphy struggled to replicate success from earlier rounds. As the fight ended, Carroll raised both hands, sure of victory. The fight went to the scorecards, with one scoring it 116-112, while the last two judges had it 116-112, and 117-111 in favour of Carroll, who is the new IBO world champion.
