Dana White sends message to Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren ahead of Canelo vs Crawford
Dana White has made a splash in boxing as the face of Zuffa Boxing, alongside Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority Turki Alalsheikh.
It was revealed by Turki that Dana would promote the Canelo vs Crawford fight alongside Sela and Riyadh Season. Eddie Hearn has welcomed the arrival of White and the challenge he presents.
In an interview with BBC Sport, White had a clear message for anyone who wanted to talk negatively about him.
Dana White enters boxing with Zuffa – subtle warning delivered to other promoters
When asked what his message to Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren, and other big promoters in boxing was about their future involvement in the sport, White said:
“Yeah, I think that, I love it. I love the fire, it’s great.
“I’m not worried about Eddie and Frank and what all these other guys are doing. I’m going to come in and do what I do. Same thing that I did with the UFC when we started the UFC, there were guys out there much bigger than the UFC at that time. You know, I didn’t focus on that. I focused on what I wanted to do and what I wanted to build.
“You know, a lot of people have talked smack to me for many, many years. They’re all gone.”
Only time will tell the impact White will have in boxing, but he’s certainly entering in style as the face of the Canelo vs Crawford promotion.
