Canelo vs Crawford – Fernando Vargas breaks down Netflix Showdown
At Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, on September 13, Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) will challenge Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) for his undisputed super-middleweight title.
This showdown is by far the biggest fight scheduled in the second half of 2025, with Canelo defending his undisputed crown and Crawford aiming to become a three-division undisputed champion and four-division lineal champion.
Many have shared their predictions, and former two-time super-welterweight world champion Fernando Vargas joined Fight Hub TV to break down the fight and reveal his pick.
Fernando Vargas shares his prediction for Canelo vs Crawford
Breaking down the September 13 main event, Vargas predicted success for Crawford early but felt the weight would be a bridge too far:
“I know Crawford. He’s a great guy. I know Canelo, he’s a great guy too.
“Crawford’s gonna have success early, but I just think it’s gonna be too much. He’s gonna be too heavy, you know, and he’s not used to those punches, so I don’t know, man. I just think that it’s gonna be a great fight, I already told you.
“I feel that, you know, it’s gonna be too much for Crawford, but he’s gonna have some success early, but I just don’t know that he’s gonna be…I mean, can he (Crawford) do it? Absolutely. But, I don’t know about no three weight classes.
“They make weight classes for a reason, vato.”
