Yankiel Rivera vs. Angelino Cordova Fight Recap
Yankiel Rivera (7-0-1, 3 KOs) and Angelino Cordova’s (19-0-2, 12 KOs, 1 NC) foul-filled fight somehow ended in a majority draw.
While one judge had it 115-111 for Cordova, the other two saw it 113-113. An interim WBA flyweight title was put at stake for this bout. With the draw result, the title remains vacant.
The early rounds saw plenty of fouls from both men. Rivera threw Cordova to the canvas after the Venezuelan initiated a clinch. In addition to that, there were also a number of headbutts, punches thrown to the back of head, and holding. Unfortunately for those watching, the fouling never stopped.
In round four, Rivera was cut on the left eyelid from a clash of heads. Eventually, he dropped Cordova with a right hook while they were both in the clinch. Cordova was deducted a point in round six for punching behind the head. Despite that, the fouling between the two did not cease. Rivera did his best work when he was at range and won rounds because of it.

Cordova was able to rock his opponent in round 11 with swinging punches, but by then Rivera appeared to have already built up a significant lead. However, that proved not to be the case on the judges scorecards. Although the fight ended in a draw, it will be difficult to find someone clamouring for a rematch.

Jasmine Artiga (14-0-1, 7 KOs) applied relentless pressure to get the third round technical knockout win against Linn Sandstrom (10-4-3, 2 KOs).

Artiga immediately started pressing forward and throwing a high volume of shots. Sandstrom eased the pressure in the opening round with a counter left hook, but punches like that were not landing often. This continued into the subsequent rounds. The fight’s end was not far off.
With over a minute to go in round three, Artiga landed a barrage of punches. With Sandstrom not throwing anything and struggling to defend herself, the referee stepped in with her still standing. The challenger had been struggling with the pressure from Artiga for the entirety of the fight.
