Jack Rafferty vs. Mark Chamberlain: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Jack Rafferty (26-0, 17 KOs) will soon put his British and Commonwealth super lightweight titles at stake against Mark Chamberlain (17-1, 12 KOs).

Their bout headlines a Queensberry Promotions card at the Planet Ice in Altrincham, England. Boxing fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN.

Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their August 23 contest. Below is some of what they had to say.

Jack Rafferty vs. Mark Chamberlain Press Conference Quotes

Jack Rafferty

“Thank you everyone for being here for the Rafferty Show,” said Rafferty. “I am very proud to be headlining on DAZN for Queensberry. It is a bit of a pinch me moment, but I know why it is a pinch me moment because I’ve worked hard to get into this position.”

“I don’t think anybody is as hungry as me. He has been there, done that, been on the big shows and has had a taste of Wembley. I think this is his first headline show, like myself, so we are going to see a good Mark Chamberlain. But this is going to be a demolition from Jack Rafferty.”

Mark Chamberlain

“I’ve trained hard for it and I am definitely more hungry than ever for it,” said Chamberlain. “It is my second headline and I am just excited for Saturday night, really.”

“I expect an explosive fight between the pair of us because styles make fights. Jack is explosive and comes forward. I’ll be the same and I certainly won’t be doing what previous opponents have done and that is hit and run and then get knackered out after a few rounds.”

Fight Prediction

Rafferty has previously shown a willingness to come forward and apply constant pressure to get the win. While Chamberlain has shown promise, the loss to Josh Padley revealed certain limitations of his. Rafferty is the more experienced of the two at super lightweight and has even fought at welterweight and super welterweight. That, combined with a willingness to apply constant pressure, should help him get the stoppage win over Chamberlain. Expert a knockout for Rafferty within eight rounds.
