Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) will soon face each other in a 10-round heavyweight contest.
Their bout headlines a card promoted by Queensberry Promotions at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live as a pay-per-view (PPV) on DAZN. Itauma-Whyte is part of the ESports World Cup festivities, an annual tournament that is funded by the Saudi Arabian government.
Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their August 16 fight. Below is some of what they had to say.

Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte Press Conference Quotes

Moses Itauma

“I feel like Dillian Whyte is a strong contender,” said Itauma. “Nothing personal. I’ve got respect for every fighter that’s on this table, but, just business.”
“To be honest, for a long time I didn’t think the fight was going to happen. But, we’re here. We’re here. We’re live. We’re ready. We trained. We’ve been in camp for maybe 14 weeks now. So, just ready to rock and roll to be honest.”

Dillian Whyte

“I’ve had a few main events, a few PPV fights, but you know what? There’s so much more left for me to achieve and chase in the game,” said Whyte. “I haven’t really sat back and looked at my career and think about this and think about that. I’m not someone who’s supposed to be here. Never had a great amateur career and no support. I’m [a] kid from Jamaica who’s been written off many times. Not meant to survive, meant to be dead before I was in my twenties and stuff. But look, here I am doing stuff. What more can I say?”
“Ain’t no sheeps [sic] around here. There’s no sheep around. There’s a lot of wolves around here but no sheeps [sic].”

Fight Prediction

Whyte has had two fights since once again testing positive for a banned substance. He has not looked particularly great following his return to professional boxing. Whyte is 37, and at that age, it is hard to see him ever returning to how he fought in his prime. On the other hand, Itauma has looked phenomenal since making his professional debut and has been primed for much success. He is young, skilled, and should not have much difficulty defeating Whyte. Expect Itauma to win this by stoppage within six rounds.
