Carl Froch Brutally Honest on Tyson Fury Comeback Rumours

On January 13, 2025, former lineal/unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury announced his retirement from professional boxing, following his rematch loss to Oleksandr Usyk. This wasn’t the first time he had announced his retirement, so this time was treated with scepticism. Speculation about his potential return is rife, and now Carl Froch, via his Froch on Fighting TikTok account, has delivered his brutally honest view on the rumours regarding “The Gypsy King.”

Tyson Fury Retirement Met with Scepticism

Carl Froch Shares Blunt Take on Tyson Fury Rumours

His latest retirement came just three weeks after his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. Fury’s only other defeat also came against the mercurial Ukrainian. Via his personal Instagram page, Fury announced his retirement, saying: Hi everybody. I’m gonna make this short and sweet,” Fury said while sitting behind the wheel of a parked car. “I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I’ve loved every single minute of it. And I’m gonna end with this — Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody. See you on the other side. Get up!”

Via his Froch on Fighting channel, the ex-super middleweight world champion made his feeling abdunatly clear regarding the possible return of “The Gypsy King”: “If I’m honest, I’m getting sick of listening to him retire, announce his retirement and then come back out of retirement to fight again. Now, does Tyson Fury retire because he is trying to get attention, he’s trying to stay in the limelight and keep in the public eye?

“Or is he trying to do it as a negotiating ploy? So when he’s retired, it’s going to cost a bit more money to get him out of retirement. But either way, if I’m totally honest, I’m getting f***ing sick of it,” added Froch.

Will Fury Fight Again?

It remains to be seen if we will see Fury fight again, but he has teased a possible return in a recent Instagram video with his trainer SugarHill Steward, and said: “Just in the gym and I bumped into somebody you might know.”

“You got it…You know what time it is,” Steward says, before Fury adds: “You know what’s coming.”

Could we possibly see the all-British mega-fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in late 2025?
