Sam Jones Drops Brutal Four-Word Tirade on Martin Bakole

On May 3 in Riyadh on the undercard of Canelo vs William Scull, Martin Bakole fought to a majority draw against Efe Alagba. Many observers, including Big Fight Weekend, had Ajagba comfortably winning that fight. He boxed well throughout, picking his shots impressively, with Bakole only having limited success. Much has been made of Bakole’s condition since his defeat to Joseph Parker, and now Sam Jones has spoken to The Stomping Ground and delivered a brutally honest assessment of Bakole’s fitness.

Sam Jones Calls Out Martin Bakole

Jones Slams Heavyweight’s Discipline

“Martin Bakole is fat. Martin is clearly a good fighter. Dangerous, strong, good chin. He is not an elite athlete. Billy (Nelson) goes in on Daniel Dubois a lot,” said Jones.

“Daniel Dubois is a bit goofy. He doesn’t really know what planet he’s on half the time. However, Daniel Dubois is an elite-level athlete. He lives correctly, diets correctly and ultimately, performances have shown. Say whatever you want about Daniel Dubois. Daniel Dubois would absolutely smash Martin Bakole to pieces.

“Martin Bakole said he was a vegetarian. No mate, he’s an everythingtarian. B*****s. Honestly, B*****s. He needs to stop eating. We’re in a politically correct world, but the facts are, Martin Bakole is fat. He’s fat. He’s morbidly obese, and there is no excuse to fight on the biggest stage in boxing. The fact Martin Bakole’s top ten in all the governing bodies. He’s a top ten heavyweight in the world, not having a nutritionist, not having a strength…these are the bare minimums,” added Jones.

Martin Bakole: Lack of Accountability

Talking about the importance of accountability, Jones said: “If this doesn’t wake Martin Bakole up at the age of 32, nearly 33, or however old he is, you’ve got to have some self-discipline, and Billy shouldn’t be getting all the stick that he’s getting because Bakole’s got to take accountability himself to not be in that shape – put on a stone in a week.

“The f**k was he eating.”
