Matchroom Boxing continues to add to its impressive stable, with fighters such as Omari Jones and rising star Leo Atang joining Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith. The promotional giant has now unveiled their latest recruit, with amateur standout Adam Maca joining the team.

Maca dazzled in the amateurs, and just last month it was revealed he will be managed by Sam Jones, who described Maca as “one of the hottest prospects in world boxing.”

During his amateur career, Maca became a five-time national champion, earning various honours at European level and a silver medal representing his birth country, Albania.

It is thought he will make his debut on June 14 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, where Richardson Hitchins will defend his IBF super lightweight title against George Kambosos Jr.

Maca Reacts to Turning Pro With Matchroom

Reacting to his deal with Matchroom Boxing, Maca said: “Since I was a little boy I wanted to be a professional boxer. I don’t come to score points, I’ll come to knock you out. I’m following my dreams, it’s time to go to work.”

Maca is box office, he’s very entertaining and has quick hands, applying plenty of pressure to his opponents. He puts his shots together well and looks a natural fit for the professional ranks. Hopes are high for this rising star, who will surely have plenty of chances under the Matchroom banner.

The 17-year-old is turning pro with a big reputation and the backing of Matchroom. The Albanian will also be bringing his army of supporters, and it feels like it won’t be too long until we see his name in lights.
