Atlas Reveals His Pick for Benn vs Eubank Jr

When asked to preview the main event on April 26, Atlas said: “Eubank (34-3, 25 KOs) will be on the outside, he’s a bigger guy. He’s gonna look to catch the smaller man coming in.

“Benn is gonna have the burden like his father, of bringing the fight to Eubank. He’s gonna have the burden of that, and the risk of that on his shoulders. Where he’s gonna have to take more chances. He’s naturally more of an offensively aggressive fighter like Benn (Sr). He hasn’t learnt how to lose yet. He hasn’t been real active in the last few years.”

Continuing about Benn (23-0, 14 KOs), Atlas said: “But he’s the younger man. He’s got more of a pro-typical style that most fans find fan-friendly, and find it easier to kind of embrace.”

“He’s gonna look to get to ya. He’s gonna go to the body. He’s a good offensive fighter. He’s gonna look to get in close. He’s gonna look to put punches together. He’s gonna look to bring the fight. he’s gonna look to be the offensive force,” said Atlas.

Moving onto what each fighter needs to do: “He’s (Benn) got to be able to be aggressive in an effective, efficient way, without being recklessly aggressive.”

“For Eubank, he’s gotta be able to control the outside and make Benn try to get to him and mug him when he goes through a bad neighbourhood.

“Catch him (Benn) with an uppercut. Catch him with a straight right hand. But catch him and do damage. Here’s how I think it’s gonna play out. I don’t know how pretty it’s gonna be, because Benn will look to get close. He’s gonna have to be really disciplined with his fight plan, his training where, when he gets close (to Eubank) he doesn’t get tied up.”

As the show was closing, it seemed Atlas would not reveal his pick for April 26, but at the last minute, he said: “Yeah, you know, the fans would hate me to be on the fence, so I’m gonna give a winner. I’m gonna say, Benn.”
