MVP Signs Unified Super Bantamweight World Champ – First Opponent Revealed

Most Valuable Promotions continues to blaze a trail in women’s boxing. Since agreeing to a lifetime deal with Amanda Serrano they have added to their pool of female fighters with Alycia Baumgardner and unified bantamweight champion Dina Thorslund joining among others.

To further enhance their standing at the forefront of boxing they have now announced the signings of IBF bantamweight world champion at 118 lbs Shurretta Metcalf (14-4-1, 2 KOs), Spain’s WBA Interim featherweight world champion at 126 lbs Jennifer Miranda (12-0, 1 KO), and Nigeria’s 126 lb Elizabeth Oshoba (9-0, 5 KOs). Most intriguingly, they have also signed English fighter Ellie Scotney (10-0, 0 KOs) who is the unified super bantamweight world champion. MVP and Scotney have reacted to the confirmation of the deal.

Scotney Lands Huge First Fight With MVP

Scotney enjoyed an impressive amateur career before moving on to the pro ranks. She continued this great showing, winning all ten fights. Her best performances came against Cherneka Johnson and Segolene Lefebvre. Her most recent win came against the dangerous undefeated New Zealand fighter Mea Motu, easing to a unanimous decision victory, collecting the IBO title to go alongside her WBO, IBF, and Ring Magazine titles.

Reacting to her deal with MVP, Scotney said: “Becoming a unified super bantamweight world champion has been the result of years of grit, sacrifice, and passion—and now, with the backing of MVP, Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, I’m ready to take things to the next level.”

“MVP is breaking barriers for women’s boxing, and I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s creating real change and global opportunities for female fighters. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to show the world what’s next.”

“Ellie Scotney is going to become one of the top names in the sport in short order,” said Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian.

Scotney will make her MVP bow against WBC super bantamweight world champion Yamileth Mercado (24-3, 5 KOs). This bout will take place on the historic July 11 Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 card at Madison Square Garden.

MVP are making a commitment to women’s boxing for the present and future. Announcing their four new recruits, Paul and Bidarian said: “From day one, we said MVP would be a force for change in boxing—and a cornerstone of that statement has been supporting women’s boxing like no one has before. Today we are excited to have four more powerful women join our roster.”
