The heavyweight division has enjoyed a renaissance since the involvement of Riyadh Season, with many great fights taking place. We have also been treated to an undisputed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Fabio Wardley (18-0-1, 17 KOs) is a heavyweight in great form, and Dan Rafael has now confirmed via his X account that the Ipswich native will fight next on June 7 for the WBA interim title in his hometown of Ipswich against Jarrell Miller (26-1-2, 22 KOs).

Wardley and Miller to Clash in Ipswich

Despite coming from a limited white-collar background, Wardley has made his mark in professional boxing. Dominating wins over Nathan Gorman and David Adeleye catapulted the Ipswich man into a fight against the Olympic 2020 bronze medallist, Frazer Clarke.

Both men fought out an enthralling draw at the 02 arenaan expected rematch was then agreed. In their second fight, Wardley showcased his improvements from the first fight and displayed his stunning power as he blew Clarke away in the first round. That win has led the 30-year-old to this WBA opportunity.

Miller has been dogged by failed drug test controversy throughout his career and suffered his first professional defeat against Daniel Dubois. Since that fight, he returned and delivered an impressive performance, gaining a majority decision draw against Andy Ruiz on the Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov undercard.

Via his X account, Dan Rafael reveals as per sources and the WBA resolution he obtained – that Fabio Wardley & Jarrell Miller have signed to fight on June 7 for the vacant WBA interim belt in Ipswich, the hometown of Wardley.

Rafael also confirms the fight will headline a Queensberry/DAZN card, with a press conference in Ipswich set for Monday (April 7) to officially announce the fight.
