Team U.S.A. endured a hugely disappointing time in boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Jones being the only shining light, collecting a bronze medal, to become the only U.S. medallist – Male or Female.

Following the summer games, there was plenty of speculation which promoter Jones would commit his future to and he ultimately decided to sign for Eddie Hearn at Matchroom.

In preparation for his professional debut, Jones gave a unique insight into his fighting style: “I’m a boxer-puncher, hit and don’t get hit,” Jones said. “I feel like I’m a mixture of a couple of fighters people enjoyed back in the day like Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather. It’s a mixture and I feel like if fans loved those guys, they’ll definitely love me.”

When discussing his aims for the future, the Orlando fighter said: “I would like to have a great resume of fighters to fight,” Jones said. “(I want) to make sure that I’m fine financially, of course, but also making sure my family is set. And I want to go on and become a world champion.”
