Diego Pacheco vs. Steven Nelson Press Conference Quotes
Diego Pacheco
“First off, I want to thank God for bringing me here safely for this amazing opportunity and for allowing me to have the best training camp of my life yet,” said Pacheco. “I’m more than ready for this test…I want to thank Steven Nelson and his team for taking the fight and taking on this amazing opportunity for both of us, really. Steven Nelson
“Yeah, I’m definitely ready, man,” said Nelson. “You know, everybody saying ‘Steven Nelson, he’s a good fighter,’ but, they’ve seen an ok version of me. I’ve never been this focused, worked this hard, been this determined for nothing in my life and it’s going to show on Saturday. I promise you that.”
Fight Prediction
Nelson is at an age where he needs to beat someone like Pacheco if he wants to fight for a world title before he calls it a day. The Omaha native has talent that he has showcased on Terence Crawford undercards over the years but has yet to have an opportunity that would put him within reach of a world title. In short, Nelson will be more than motivated. However, at just 23 years of age, Pacheco has also shown immense talent and promise. He will have a significant height and reach advantage as well. Expect the younger man to win via unanimous decision, but it will not be easy.
