“I’ll Knock Jake Paul Out”: Ex-Lennox Lewis Rival Wants Revenge for Tyson

Oliver McCall stunned the boxing world on September 24, 1994, when he knocked out Lennox Lewis to win the WBC world heavyweight title. They eventually rematched in 1997, where Lewis dismantled a clearly troubled McCall to win by fifth-round TKO. The American had his last fight in 2019 before he surprisingly returned to professional boxing when he stopped Stacy Frazier in round two on Nov. 19, 2024 at the age of 59, which came just days after Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul. Following his successful return, McCall – has spoken to BoxingScene and made it clear he will improve further and wants to knock out “El Gallo.”

“The Atomic Bull” had only fought twice since his loss to Marcin Rekowski in 2014. Instead of enjoying retirement like many of his old foes, McCall is looking to secure a fight against Jake Paul, and speaking to BoxingScene, the 59-year-old heavyweight said: “Well, next fight, I’m gonna be about 10 pounds lighter so you’re gonna have a lot more technique, and I can punch. I could definitely punch.”

Improvements and Jake Paul

McCall also made it clear that his motivation is still burning bright and he seemingly wants to improve on his comeback win against Stacy Frazier. Speaking about his attributes and improvements needed, he said: “My defence is pretty decent. What about if I lose about 10 more pounds, I’m ready for anybody.”
