Tommy Fury Headlines Misfits Boxing Card With Opponent Confirmed
Tommy Fury (10-0, 4 KOs) has announced his return to the ring via his personal Instagram with a caption under the fight poster that reads: “IM BACK. Co-Op Live, Manchester.” The poster confirms the return of “TNT” and his opponent ex-UFC star Darren Till (1-0, 1 KO). The venue will be the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester on a January 18 Misfits Boxing card live on DAZN.
Tommy Fury Returns to Face Darren Till in Manchester
Fury vs. Till Set for January Return
Fury was last seen in action when he defeated KSI on October 14, 2023, at the Manchester Arena. It was a six-round unanimous decision victory that failed to catch fire with the tactics of KSI receiving widespread criticism. Since that win “TNT” has had hand surgery, explaining the problem: “Since 2019 I have been dealing with a hand injury that I’ve never spoken about/shared online.” His opponent has won his only boxing fight against Mohammad Mutie by TKO, with a bizarre brawl following the end of the bout.
With the bout now confirmed, the build-up to the fight should be entertaining with the outspoken Till surely having plenty to say. Fury has been in the press plenty recently for non-boxing related reasons, and will surely be keen to remind fans of his boxing ability.
Tommy Fury and Darren Till React
Speaking on the announcement, Fury said: “It feels great to, finally, say that I am back!
“I have been out of the ring far too long, I’ve been getting itchy knuckles, and so I am thrilled to be able to announce my return.”
He continued: “This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans, at Co-op Live.”
“Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth, and this is not the game for him.”
“I plan on dealing with Till in conclusive fashion and then chasing even bigger fights in 2025,” said Fury.
Till also had his say, and simply said: “January 18 is my time, my night.”
Mams Taylor Excited for Fury-Till
Co-President of Misfits Boxing, Mams Taylor has also reacted to the Fury-Till news: We are starting 2025 with a serious statement of intent!”
Taylor continued: “Fury vs. Till is an absolute banger, one of the biggest crossover fights that can be made, and it will set up the X Series for a record-breaking year.”
“The build-up to this is going to be compelling, it could get personal, and the fight will be one of the most brutal we have ever seen on Misfits.”
“Get your tickets now,” added Taylor.
