Floyd Schofield vs. René Téllez Girón Press Conference Quotes
Floyd Schofield
“Wassup everybody, I don’t do a lot of talking,” said Schofield. “First and foremost, I’ll say not so happy Halloween because I can’t eat not candy. But, I’m just ready to fight. Preparation, it was difficult. Had a hard training camp, but I’m ready. I’m ready to show what I’m capable of Saturday. Being a father, a new father, showed me that this isn’t about me anymore. Fighting on Saturday, this is for my boy, this is for my grandma, this is for my team, my father, Golden Boy Promotions. I’m here to make everybody proud. I like to thank René for taking the fight, but I hope he’s ready to give his life in that ring like I am. I’ll see y’all Saturday.”

René Téllez Girón
“I just want to say thank you to everybody, Golden Boy and Oscar De La Hoya,” said Girón through an interpreter. “I’m so excited because this is gonna be my first fight [as] the main event in Las Vegas. So, I will represent Mexico like always. So, I’m ready and thanks again for being here.”
Fight Prediction
Schofield is viewed as a promising young fighter. However, Girón has a history of defeating promising young fighters. Schofield will need to be at his very best on Saturday night and it is unlikely he will get a stoppage win given who he is fighting. Expect the young American to have his toughest fight but prevail via unanimous decision.
