Ben Shalom Reveals ‘Top of the List’ Fight for Chris Eubank Jr. in 2025

Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) returns on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia against Polish fighter Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8 KOs). Their bout will be part of the stacked undercard for Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev. Ahead of his return, Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom has spoken to BoxingScene about his confidence in making the Canelo Álvarez fight.

The Brighton fighter was last seen in the ring when he impressively won the rematch against Liam Smith by tenth-round TKO. A move to Boxxer has coincided with the return of Eubank Jr. who has recently spoken to Steve Bunce on the 5 Live Boxing Podcast about the rumoured Álvarez negotiations.

Assuming the Hove-born fighter navigates past Szeremeta, Shalom is looking ahead to the Canelo fight: “I genuinely believe that fight will happen next year, either in May or September,” Shalom told BoxingScene.

He continued: “Whether in Las Vegas or the UK, Chris is ready for the Canelo fight and hopefully it will happen next year.”

Shalom added: “I really believe that. He was out of the ring for a year and was given a six-to-seven-weeks’ notice.”

Talking about the motivation of Eubank Shalom said: “He’s a big star already and earns big money anyway. He’s not the type that you can tempt into the ring for a payday.”

“He’s made a fortune in the sport. He wants to go into that fight to win. So, he wants to go into that fight prepared,” Shalom added.

It is clear the Boxxer founder is looking to make only big fights for Eubank: “After the Kamil Szeremeta fight on October 12, it’s big fights only, and Canelo is on top of the list.”
