Chris Eubank Jr. Teases Blockbuster Boxing Showdown with MMA Superstar

On October 12, on the  Dmitry Bivol vs. Artur Beterbiev undercard, Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) will return to action against Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8 KOs). Eubank recently spoke to Steve Bunce on the 5 Live Boxing Podcast about the rumoured Canelo Álvarez negotiations and the much-rumoured fight against Conor Benn. The 35-year-old Hove-born fighter has now teased the possibility of a boxing match against MMA legend Conor McGregor.

‘There’s Been Talks’ – Eubank Jr. on Facing McGregor

During the recent interview with Steve Bunce, the Brighton man spoke about the next 12 months and his upcoming opponent, Kamil Szeremeta:“We’ve got some very exciting fights over the next 12 months and it all starts in Saudi on October 12.”

He continued: “Some people are calling it a warm-up fight. The guys got a great record. He’s got pedigree, he’s been in with (Jaime) Munguía and GGG, he’s not an idiot.”

He also spoke about fights that are bigger than belts: “I have multiple fights that are actually bigger than me going and fighting for a belt,” added Eubank.

The former WBA interim middleweight title holder has now admitted he would be prepared to face McGregor in the future: “You know, there’s actually been talks of me and him actually having a boxing match at some point,” he told DAZN.

He added: “The fans have said that they want to see that. How interesting that would be. That’s definitely something that I’m open to exploring, let’s just say that.”

It remains to be seen what’s next for Eubank Jr. should he win on October 12. If he is successful on his Boxxer debut, big fights seemingly await the Hove Fighter and a fight with McGregor would certainly get people talking.
