‘You Are Too Sensitive’: Ryan Garcia Responds to Recent Controversy

Ryan Garcia has been on a seemingly downward spiral for a considerable time, with the latest controversy involving the Victorville-born fighter making a series of racist comments on a social media livestream, which prompted his parents Henry and Lisa Garcia and the WBC to issue statements condemning his behaviour. Garcia has now issued his response.

“Let me get this straight, I’ve actually supported black communities. Have taken racism from Tim Bradley calling me a zoo animal on ESPN. And turn the other cheek but Im racist bc everyone was drunk and saying shit people say all the time including black men.”

“If you get triggered by a word that means you are too sensitive. God knows my heart and how I would protect black children till the day I die. I was speaking against black-on-black crime. They took everything out of context including the Muslim part I spoke against pedo activity in every religion and how I stand for that.”

Recap of Livestream Controversy

The troubled fighter used the n-word and ranted about George Floyd during a troublesome livestream. This came along with a now-deleted social media post which read: “Fuck all n—— and Fuck all Muslims.”

The livestream was disturbing to listen to and makes you realise how troubled Garcia is and why the WBC have taken action: “I hate n——, I’m anti-black, I’m the KKK. Hey, let’s go bring George Floyd back to life and go kill that n—– again,” Garcia said during the livestream.

Garcia is clearly in pain, but these outbursts will seemingly lead to further punishment. It’s tough to see a young man with so much potential waste it through his behaviour. Whatever comes next, let’s hope the 25-year-old gets the help he needs and issues a suitable apology for his recent actions.
