Arum and Mielnicki React to Deal
The New Jersey native enjoyed an impressive amateur career, becoming a four-time Junior National Golden Gloves champion. He has trained alongside Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson, which saw him turn pro at 17, defeating Tamarcus Smith in the first round. His one career setback saw him lose to James Martin in his ninth pro fight by unanimous decision.
Mielnicki has recovered well, winning his last ten fights while picking up three regional titles. He now trains under the guidance of Ronnie Shields, who has worked with Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, and Pernell Whitaker. His performance in his last fight was impressive, as he comfortably outpointed Ronald Cruz on the Canelo Alvarez-Jaime Munguia undercard, winning the vacant WBC USA junior middleweight title.
