Errol Spence-Danny Garcia PPV moving to December with fans

The return of Unified World Welterweight Champ Errol Spence will have to wait a little longer, but by doing so, it will now have fans present for his PPV battle with Danny Garcia.

This after it was confirmed Thursday morning that Spence-Garcia, originally penciled in for November 21st, would now move to December 5th and be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, with some fans socially distanced.

Garcia actually confirmed it on social media, including when tickets for the event in Texas will now go on sale,

Spence and Garcia are agreeing to the move, as it will likely mean more money for them due to the live gate, which could be more than 10,000 fans in attendance.

The two were originally to have fought in early 2020 until Spence was involved in a spectacular one car crash in Dallas in the middle of the night in October of 2019. Despite the car cartwheeling across a median and into an empty business parking lot and Spence being thrown from the vehicle, he reportedly only suffered only a slight concussion and a hairline fracture jaw.

Spence only began full training early in 2020 before the coronavirus Mid-March shutdown of the sport. He only began sparring after the car accident, recently.

Spence was last in the ring winning the Unified 147 lb. title with a 12-round impressive decision over WBC champ, Shawn Porter, in in September in Los Angeles.

The unbeaten former U.S. Olympian has an 26-0, 21 KOs record. And, he originally won the IBF version of the 147 lb. title in May of 2017. That’s, when he stopped England’s Kell Brook in the 11th round in Sheffield, England.

As for Garcia, the former World Junior Welterweight champ has had two previous unsuccessful attempts at winning a 147-pound world championship. He was beaten in two title challenges. First by WBA Champion Keith Thurman losing on decision in March 2017. Then, Porter beat him over 12 rounds for the vacant WBC 147 lb. belt in September, 2018.

Spence does have history fighting in the home of the Dallas Cowboys. Spence dominated (photo at top) former Undisputed Lightweight champion, Mikey Garcia, in a Fox Pay-per-View in March of 2019 at AT&T Stadium. That was also the debut of Fox Sports and PBC’s pay per view strategy, and this will be the first of those, since the shutdown of the sport back in March due to Covid 19.
