“Big Baby” Miller set to return for Top Rank in Vegas?

A famously flunked drug test kept him from fighting Anthony Joshua a year ago and now, American Heavyweight contender, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller. is apparently set to return to the ring.

Boxing insider Mike Coppinger of the Athletic reported on Tuesday night that Miller is under consideration to headline for Top Rank boxing in Las Vegas next month:

Miller, 23-0, 20 KOs, who at times has fought at near or over 300 lb., was set to challenge the Unified Heavyweight champion Joshua in his American debut at Madison Square Garden last June.

However, it was revealed at Miller failed a pre-fight PED test for not just one, but three banned substances. And, he was immediately suspended by the New York Commission and all of the World top organizations from challenging for their titles.

Fellow American contender Andy Ruiz subsequently stepped in on less than two months notice and knocked Joshua out in the 7th round in one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight title history.

Miller signed a promotional deal earlier this year with Top Rank and now that fights have resumed in the environmentally controlled bubble at the MGM Resorts in Las Vegas, is apparently ready to resume his career.

Forrest,26-3, 20 KOs, is a fellow American contender, who was very active in 2019 with a 4-1 record. The lone loss was a controversial split decision to Jermaine Franklin last July in Tacoma, WA.

Miller was last in the ring in November of 2018 at 315 lb., but he knocked out Bogdan Dinu in the fourth round in Kansas. He also had put together a succession of wins over European contenders Johann Duhaupas and Mariusz Wach, previously. And, he had also knocked out American Gerald Washington, while building his resume’ in 2017.
