Fight prediction
From Big Fight Weekend’s Ricky Carroll: Berlanga entered professional boxing with a bang, knocking out his first sixteen opponents. Since then, the KO’s have somewhat dried up, with defeats against Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Hamzah Sheeraz. When signing with Zuffa, Berlanga spoke via a press release and said: “Zuffa Boxing is changing the game. I’m here for the biggest fights on boxing’s best platform, here to put the super middleweight division on notice.”
Butler carries plenty of power and has won his last four by stoppage. However, every time he has lost, he’s been stopped. He has normally fallen short when stepping up, but did record a good win earlier this year, defeating Ramadan Hiseni.
Berlanga was beaten comfortably by Sheeraz last time out. His early-career power dissipated, as it seemed he just wanted to knock everyone out, neglecting his boxing. When he puts his punches together and works the openings, that’s when his power shines through.
Butler also carries lots of pop in his punches, and will be dangerous early. Berlanga will need to be patient and use his jab before taking over in the middle rounds and stopping the Canadian.
