William Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs) and Tevin Farmer (33-7-1, 8 KOs, 1 NC) will soon face each other in a rematch.
Their bout headlines a Golden Boy Promotions and Cancún Boxing co-promotion at the Poliforum Benito Juárez in Cancún, México. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. The two boxers previously faced each other in November last year. Despite being dropped in the fourth round, Zepeda would go on to win via split decision.
Ahead of their March 29 clash, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.
William Zepeda vs. Tevin Farmer 2 Press Conference Quotes
William Zepeda
“I am very excited, and very happy to face a fighter like Tevin Farmer who I was able to go toe-to-toe with,” said Zepeda in Spanish. “I tested my skills, and had to win round by round and was able to see the combination luck and talent help me win. Fans are going to see a fighter who is just as explosive. I learned a lot in those 10-rounds against Farmer, and in a training camp of 12 weeks I worked hard to be the best version of myself.”
Tevin Farmer
“Everyone forgets how I got my world title the first time,” said Farmer. “I went to the wolf’s den. I went to Australia and defeated Billy Dib to get my world title. I’m used to this. My whole career, I’ve been the underdog. I’ve never had a big promoter behind me so I had to get it the hard way and growing up in Philly is the wolf’s den itself and I was the wolf.”
Fight Prediction
Many of Zepeda’s past opponents have struggled with his style, a reason why he has 27 knockouts in 32 fights. However, Farmer appeared to have figured out a way to beat the Mexican – losing their first fight by only the barest of margins. Zepeda will need to make significant improvements to beat Farmer comfortably, but it will be hard to do in such a short amount of time. Expect a unanimous decision win for Farmer this time around.
