Shakur Stevenson vs Floyd Schofield: Lightweight Rival Makes Bold Prediction
Shakur Stevenson vs Floyd Schofield will take place on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the loaded undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol. The entire event will be available on multiple PPV platforms. Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs)-Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) will attract plenty of attention despite the depth of this card, and divisional rival Abdullah Mason has spoken to Fighthype and predicted the outcome of this intriguing lightweight world title contest.

Mason Shares His Thoughts on Shakur Stevenson vs Floyd Schofield
Stevenson will be fighting for the first time under the Matchroom Boxing banner when he defends his WBC light heayweight title against the dangerous, unbeaten Schofield.
The 22-year-old contender has been impressive since turning professional, with his only blip coming his last fight, where he was knocked down against Rene Tellez Giron, before ultimately winning by unanimous decision.

Stevenson, endured a frustrating 2024, fighting only once, beating Artem Harutyunyan. This bout will mark a huge step up in class for Schofield who has faced no one near the level of Shakur, who at his best is one of the most skillful fighters on the planet.
Stevenson will be the big favourite in many eyes on Feb. 22 but fellow lightweight Abdullah Mason who faces Manuel Jaimes on Feb. 14 has had his say on who will win in Riyadh: “I feel like Shakur does what he wants in there. Kid Austin has a good style, but I don’t think it’s a style that’s ready for Shakur,” said Mason to Fighthype.

“I feel Shakur might sweep him. He might stop him. I’m not sure how he’s going to fight, but I feel he can do what he wants.
“I don’t think there’s any chance. Of course, it’s boxing, and there’s a percentage, but I don’t know what that percentage is. To me, I don’t see it.”
