Richard Torrez Jr. vs. Guido Vianello: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Richard Torrez Jr. (12-0, 11 KOs) and Guido Vianello (13-2-1, 11 KOs) will soon face each other in a 10-round heavyweight clash.

Their bout headlines a Top Rank card at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Boxing fans in the United States can catch the action live on ESPN+. Those in the United Kingdom can do so with Sky Sports. In Canada, it will be broadcast by TSN+.

Both men spoke at a press conference ahead of their clash on April 5. Below is some of what they said.

Richard Torrez Jr. vs. Guido Vianello Press Conference Quotes

Richard Torrez Jr.

“The most exciting part of this is that he is a worthy opponent,” said Torrez. “He has a name. We’re both working towards something. We’re not just trying to stay in the game. We’re trying to prove something in order to obtain something great. So, it’s amazing to me that we’re able to be in the ring together to fight for that greatness.”

Guido Vianello

“The fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov was just a warm-up for me,” said Vianello. “It was an easy fight. Now, my pro career is getting started.”

“Richard is a very strong guy. He’s young like me. Actually, he’s younger. We are two young guys. He’s a southpaw. He has an Olympic medal, so big respect to him.”

Fight Prediction

Vianello is someone whose style could pose some problems for Torrez. The American has so far defeated each of his opponents in the professional ranks with ease. However, Vianello’s amateur pedigree should allow him to have some success in their fight on Saturday. Despite this, expect Torrez to eventually figure things out and break his opponent down before the final bell. Expect a stoppage win for Torrez somewhere in the late rounds.
