George Liddard vs. Derrick Osaze: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction
George Liddard (10-0, 6 KOs) and Derrick Osaze (13-2, 3 KOs) will soon clash in a middleweight contest.
Their bout headlines a Matchroom Boxing card at the Indigo at The O2 in London, England. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. Ahead of their January 31 bout, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

“First, I just want to say thank you for the opportunity to be here,” said Osaze. “Thankful to God. Obviously faith is a big, important foundation in my life and He sustained me throughout my career up to this point. What I know about George [Liddard]…he’s a good fighter. You not going to be sitting in this seat topping a Matchroom bill if you’re not a good fighter. So in terms of that, of course [he’s a good fighter. In terms of the fight, well, Eddie [Hearn] is right when he says it’s a tough test. If you know me, I’m not really into all this talking. I like to do my talking on Friday. But it should be a very good fight.”

“I’m extremely grateful to God as well for the opportunity,” said Liddard. “Grateful to Matchroom. You know I boxed on loads of your shows and now to headline one, very, very grateful. I’m excited. The hard work’s done. This is the fun part for me now. I’m just looking forward to fight. This is what I do. I never shy away from a test. Like you say, Derrick [Osaze] is a good test. I’m ready to pass it. That is what it is. If you look at my record, I’ve never shied away from anyone. I’ll fight any man. I’m a fighting man. That’s what I do.”
Fight Prediction
In this fight, Liddard will not have to worry much about the power coming from Osaze, who has only three stoppages on his record. Expect the undefeated prospect to try and make a statement as he headlines a Matchroom card for the first time. Liddard by stoppage by round seven.
