Can Manny Pacquiao summon another great performance Saturday?

It’s the biggest fight of Keith Thurman’s life, when he steps through the ropes Saturday night in Las Vegas on the PPV stage to fight legendary eight-division World Champion, Manny Pacquiao. And, we’ve now reached the point where the talking will stop, the fists will be flying, and we will find out if the unbeaten Thurman is up to the standard that Pacquiao has held for over 15 years.

On this week’s edition of the Big Fight Weekend podcast, we had an in-depth preview from several angles of this WBA World Welterweight Title showdown.

And most importantly, can a 40 year old, “Pac Man,” be great, one more time?

First, Las Vegas sports radio personality and boxing historian, T.C. Martin joined the podcast live from Vegas. T.C. gave us a feel for what this Pacquiao pay-per-view has in comparison to some of the previous ones over the last 10 – 15 years? Further, T.C. gave some analysis on how he thinks this one is likely to unfold.

Finally having been in the MGM Grand Garden Arena on numerous occasions for humongous fights, Martin gives us an idea of what that is like and what he believes the atmosphere will be like, on Saturday night for Pacquiao vs. Thurman.

Next up, regular outstanding guest David Payne, aka “The Boxing Writer” from the U.K., is back on the show.

David gives his insight and analysis on Pacquiao-Thurman, including why he believes Pacquiao deserves the edge over his younger unbeaten opponent Saturday night. Also, David gives a preview of the Heavyweight tripleheader from “Matchroom Boxing” that will take place earlier Saturday U.S. time. The featured fighters are  Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora headline the show in separate bouts at the O2 Arena.

T.J. and David also reminisce about former four-division world champion and boxing Hall of Famer, Pernell Whitaker, who was killed last Sunday night in Virginia.

Finally, the lead writer of BigFightWeekend.com, Marquis Johns, is back on the podcast giving his analysis and prediction on Pacquiao vs. Thurman. Marquis also has several other fights and fighters that he will be watching for this week’s action that he shares on the show.

It’s arguably the biggest fight of the entire summer, as Pacquiao goes for another large win to pad his “All Time Credentials” and Thurman has the chance to knock off one of boxing’s recent greats.

And, you can hear all about it on the Big Fight Weekend podcast at this link.
